Welcome to the Home Page of the Wirral Singers! Probably the longest established and still operating choir on the Wirral! (If you know different – let us know!)
The Wirral Singers was formed in 1952 as the Old Girls’ Choir of Wirral County Grammar School for Girls.
We are proud that many honours have come our way in the competitive field, most notably at the Llangollen International Music Eisteddfod and in the BBC’s “Let the Peoples Sing.”
But just as important to us is that we sing because we love it, we have fun and our recent concerts have raised hundreds of pounds for charities benefitting the local community.
We sing a really broad mix of pieces from popular music, well known choral pieces, Lennon and McCartney classics, standards from the world of jazz and songs from musicals, to madrigals and sacred pieces.
We rehearse on a Monday night during term times at the United Reformed Church on Higher Bebington Road.
We’d love to hear from you if you would like to come and join us, or if you would like us to sing for you or your charity, please get in touch.
