Mes Amies, a choral ensemble led by Gill Brady, conductor of the choir, was formed about eight years ago when 6 friends within the Wirral Singers came together to have fun singing contemporary songs.
Since then we have gone from strength to strength, and in 2014 celebrated double success both at the Wirral Festival of Music and Drama when we won the vocal ensemble class for the fifth year running and at the Chester Festival of Performing Arts where our debut performance saw us bringing home two trophies! We sing at all the choir’s concerts but also perform independently.
We don’t charge a fee, but always ask for a donation towards a charity of our choice. In the past we have raised funds for Claire House and for Wirral Autistic Society. We also supported a local lady Mia Austin, who suffered locked-in syndrome after a stroke at the age of 21. We were delighted that we were able to present Mia with almost £600 raised from the various groups that we entertained including Soroptomists International, Irby and Thurstaston Gardeners’ Association and Heswall Ramblers.
We are kept busy, but more importantly we are delighted to help in raising funds for charities both local and national.
If you would like us to sing for your group or social event, please contact Gill by text to 077527 33656 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
