Wirral Ringers

Humdingers rehearsal

Wirral Ringers or Humdingers as we call ourselves (as most of our members are taken from the choir who therefore both hum and ding!) is a group of about ten ladies, under the direction of Ian Robertson (Jackie’s husband). The handbells we use were originally from St Peter’s Church (Liverpool Pro-Cathedral), which stood in Church Street, Liverpool and was demolished in 1923 after the opening of the new Anglican Cathedral. The bells were merged with another set, refurbished and re-tuned by Taylors of Loughborough, to become a 24 bell set of 2 chromatic octaves in A.
